Name: Kogge von Kampen 1336
Laser-Cut Wooden Kit includes:
In Kampen, the Netherlands in 1998 a replica of a typical Medieval trading ship - a cog - was completed after four years of building. She was built following the unique discovery of the wreck from 1336 during the draining of the Flevopolders near Nijkerk. Excavated remains made it possible to create a true reconstruction of the XIV century vessel. The length of the Kamper Kogge - as the replica was christened - is 21.6 meters, her beam 7.56 meters and tonnage 60-80 tons. In the Middle Ages cogs were used to carry all types of goods and - at the wartime - troops and war machines as well. Now the Kamper Kogge sails every season and takes part in maritime events in the harbours of the Northern Europe. Kampen is her homeport. Our model is inspired mainly by this reconstruction.
