The Westerheversand lighthouse was established on the Eiderstedt peninsula
and a tower was built with the height of 40 meters. The light can be seen from
39 – 40 km away. During 1970, its image was used as a beer advertising campaign and later, canned fish. 
In 2007, it celebrated its hundred years of existence.
