The Minnesota Point Lighthouse is located in Duluth at the western end of Lake Superior
on the border of Minnesota and Wisconsin. The construction was approved in 1853
and was completed in 1857. In 1858, the lighthouse was officially opened. The lighthouse
was 15 meters high built out of red brick and covered with white plaster. The lighthouse operated until 1913.
On the 27th of December 1974, the ruins and remains of the tower were added to the U.S.
National Register of Historic Places.
