Name: Los Morrillos de Cabo Rojo
Laser-Cut Cardboard Kit includes:
Built by the Spaniards in 1882, Los Morillos lighthouse stands on the south-west tip of Puerto Rico
at Cape Rojo (Cabo Rojo). Signaling its position, the lighthouse guards the entrance to the dangerous
Strait of Mona, which separates the Caribbean Sea from the Atlantic Ocean. The lighthouse was placed
on a white limestone cliff about 40 m above sea level. The light is visible from 18 nautical miles
(about 33.5 km). A very interesting tower in terms of architecture, it has a height of approximately 12m.
In 1967 the lighthouse was completely automated.
